Bluesy Rock Guitar Sound

퇴근하면서 들었던 Badlands의 데뷔앨범..... Jake E. Lee의 사운드를 들으면서 바로 내가 원하던 사운드라는 것을 알았다!! 평소 내가 추구하던 음악들이 바로 블루지한 하드락이었다라는 것도....오....온몸에 전율이 느껴지던 순간. 그 음반에서 Jake E. Lee가 어떤 장비를 사용했는지가 궁금해졌는데, 검색결과 여러가지 설이 분분하더라는.....

잠깐 적어보면....

Guitars: ESP Guitars, Custom ESP w/agibson neck and gibson frets upt to the 12th fret the they're all fender frets.Seymoure Duncan Humbucker(bridge) and 2 DiMarzio SDS1 Single-Coil Pups.

Live rig: Marshall 100's threw marshall cabs using Electero-Voice speakers. A Boss OD pedal was employed live w/minimal settings.Dist/OD was set at 0 to reduce muddyness of low-end and tighten things up.

Studio Rig: '68,'69,'70 Marshall 100 watt Plexi Amps threw marshall cabinets loaded w/EV speakers.Once again the Boss OD was employed w/dist/od settings at 12 o'clock or 7 o'clock depending upon how much dist. he wanted.


등등. 전형적인 마샬 사운드라는 얘기가 나오는디..... 뭔가 배음이 풍부하면서도 쫀득쫀득한, 중음대가 강조된 그런 사운드.....캬~ 정말 멋진 사운드인 듯. 중요한 건.... OD-1의 디스트를 최소로하면서 부스터로 사용했다는 것인데....기타나 앰프는 바뀌더라도 Boss OD-1을 부스터로 꼭 사용했던 것 같다. 이참에 부스터 연구나 좀 더 해봐야겠다...ㅋㅋ.
